It’s been a while in the making, but “Old Time Maple Leaf Rivals and more Maple Leaf Memories” is now available as an eBook on Amazon.
Like the first Volume published in 2013, “The Maple Leafs of My Youth”, this book shares my memories of a number of great old Leafs from the 1950s through to the 1970s. But I’ve also included stories on some all-time Leaf “rivals” who were such a big part of making hockey something that has always meant a great deal to me—players like Maurice Richard (seen in the photo on the right in his later years with the Canadiens in the 1950s), Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Jean Beliveau and many others.
I realize that this book won’t be of interest to those looking for current Leaf talk. But some of you who, like me, were around to see and cheer for (and against, in the case of some of the players I write about!) those wonderful old time names may bring back some fond memories of your own. I certainly hope so.
There is as much promise around the current Leafs as there has been in a long time. So maybe this is indeed a good time to look back on some of the names and teams that got the Leafs (and the NHL) to this point-- and were all in one way or another such a huge part of the history of the franchise and the legacy that has endured to this day.
The book for now is available only on Amazon- here’s the link for those interested in purchasing the book:
I hope those who read it will enjoy it.
