New To Vintage Leaf Memories? A new look for our site!

Every day Vintage Leaf Memories attracts visits from those finding our site for the first time. Those familiar with the site will notice a new “look” this week We’ve re-designed the web site to make it a bit easier to read, based on feedback we have received. We’ve also made room to include our new advertisers. We hope you like it.

For those of you visiting for the first time, there are many articles that might be of interest—whether you are a long-time Leaf fan or simply an old-time hockey fan.

Among the recent posts we’ve added in the past two weeks:

• a look back almost forty years at a 13-0 Leaf victory in early January, 1971

• the Winter Classic honorary captains - Bobby Clarke and Bobby Orr - brought back memories of the 1974 NHL finals which pitted the Bruins against the Flyers

• we asked: When did you became a Leaf fan? A hockey fan? What triggered your decision?

• a feature on two little-discussed aspects of Hall-of-Famer Johnny Bower’s illustrious career—where he began his career, and the fact that he “never” wore a mask

• a post which highlighted one thing Swedish Leaf greats Borje Salming and Mats Sundin had in common

• our look back at a time when NHL arenas had no protective glass

• a post on current Leaf Nikolai Kulemin

• a retrospective look at 1973 first-round draft choice Bob Neely

• a post on ex-Leafs who played elsewhere after expansion hit in 1967

Going further back, we’ve posted on long-time Leaf rivals Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe, Rocket Richard and Bobby Hull, as well as Leafs such as Dave Keon, Brian Spencer, Bert Olmstead, Dick Duff, Andy Bathgate, former goalies Eddie Chadwick, Don Simmons and many other well-known and not-so-well-known Leafs. As always, we thank you for your feedback as our site continues to grow!
