Leaf and hockey blogs worth visiting

The risk in suggesting good hockey blogs to follow is that you inevitably forget some really worthwhile sites.  I’m sure I will today, but I just wanted to take a moment to mention some sites that have certainly caught my eye over the past couple of years as I have become somewhat entrenched in this so-called “blogospehere”.

Joe Pelletier’s Greatest Hockey Legends at http://www.greatesthockeylegends.com/  remains an excellent site, with well-crafted articles on little-known hockey facts and moments.  It's so well pulled together, every time.

Of course just about every walking, waking Leaf fan knows about Pension Plan Puppets (http://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/ )  Not a day goes by, I’m sure, without thousands of people stopping by the site for information, stories from a host of solid writers and assorted Leaf news and updates.

Maple Leaf Hot Stove at  http://mapleleafshotstove.com/  is an exceptionally good hockey site.  Again, a range of writers, views and opinions and thoughtful Leaf perspectives pretty much daily.

I also enjoy the perspective at We Want a Cup http://www.wewantacup.com/ .  Just an excellent job all-around.  The reflective front-page post  alone makes it a must visit.

I’m sure just about every hockey fan knows about Down Goes Brown and his unique work online and at the National Post.  He often combines with the always-entertaining Bloge Salming site, at  http://www.blogesalming.com/

Long-time former NHL goaltender Phil Myre brings a “been there” perspective at http://www.philmyretalkshockey.com/

Puckin’ eh is an excellent Leaf site that I always enjoy, too, at  http://puckineh.com/

One of my favorite hockey (non-Leaf sites) has to do with an organization I’ve developed a fondness for over the years, the Nashville Predators.  With low budgets, uncertain ownership (and despite cries that they play in a “non-hockey” market) the Preds have built a first class organization on and off the ice under David Poile and Barry Trotz.  And they have a growing and dedicated fan base.  Preds on the Glass is an outstanding hockey site that brings us up to date every day throughout the year at http://www.predsontheglass.com/
